Children’s Rights 2017. Introduction February 06 – March 05 / 2017

conventions

Water is Life Project

water2016

Від лютого 2016 ми починаємо працювати у новому міжнародному телекомунікаційному проекті “Water is Life Project” .

The iEARN Water is Life project will bring students into active research and action-oriented collaboration concerning water as the vital essence of life.

Taking the United Nations Sustainable Development Gaols 14 and 6 as their inspiration and their focus, students will work within their school and with schools across the globe to study, research and share as they develop an understanding of the Goals and cooperatively develop ideas and strategies to play their part in the meeting of the Goals.

Students will be encouraged and supported in the development of their learning, their cooperation with their classmates and students in schools around the globe and in turning their research into ideas they can take to the community: local, national and global.

For us every learning circle has been a brick to our knowledge wall. In those projects we had the chance to exchange information about culture, traditions, aspirations, world goals and many other interesting things.

All we can say is that we are really deeply satisfied with the impact of this project in our life,

Dear Friends,
We are very grateful for the questions that you asked. They made us learn more about Canadian history and social issues like poverty, women empowerment, and clean water.
The one wish we may have is that we had more chance to actually talk and collaborate with all the participants rather than just read your responses. We hope we can do this in the future.
Good bye means another beginning. Have wonderful Holidays and Happy New Year!

Unfortunately, there are constant wars and local conflicts in the world. People are dying.
There are refugees in different parts of our planet. It’s very scary and unfair to live under fire and hide in the basements.

• What should the heads of states and public organizations do to guarantee people live in the world without wars?

212

• Are our students able to influence the situation and save peace? How?

Answer from sdg2

I think that heads of states should take decisions based on people’s choice. They should listen more, so they can communicate better, because nowadays, it’s hard to do something that really makes you happy without thinking about other people’s opinions.
Students can go to debates; they can make discussions about wars and fights. Also, they could organize themselves in order to go to churches and try to find some peace for the heart. They can invite teachers too, because they are adults and they have another mentality that would help teenagers. Teachers may be part of peace building and there is a need for professional development of teachers to develop their own values and strategies for the discussion of controversial issues, like war.
These days, refugees are a current problem. Heads of states should discuss more about this issue which would change the structure of Europe. They could invite refugees to take part in some departments and talk to children.
To conclude, I think that communication and love are the keys of sure peace.

Answer from sdg3

To rid the world of wars and peacekeeping around the world must succeed to find a way to understand all the people. Not to burst wars must find a way of making everyone to be content and we have to understand that by fighting or other violent methods we do not solve a problem. Some people are living in some life conditions that are unbearable and they have to try to survive. Therefore we consider that we must try to change the current situation and maintain peace.

Although all of the students would like to influence heads of state and public organizations to save peace, this is not possible. The cause is too little influence over the state of the planet’s citizens. What should be done is that the state or associations to cooperate much more with people, to take into account the wishes and reach an agreement that is favorable to all.

World peace is an ideal of freedom, peace, and happiness among and within all nations and/or people. World peace is an idea of planetary non-violence by which nations willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance that prevents warfare. The term is sometimes used to refer to a cessation of all hostility amongst all humanity. For example, World Peace could be crossing boundaries via human rights, technology, education, engineering, medicine, diplomats and/or an end to all forms of fighting.

Answer from sdg4

As the cruel reality has just shown these days (yesterday many innocent people were killed in the “city of love”, by some unknown terrorists) , it is compulsory that the heads of states do take some serious attitudes against the chaotic minds that are trying to impress by power and fear. It is their duty to offer again the sense of security and safety to their nations and to each human being. We,the students, are convinced that we should also offer us as an example of strength and rational attitude in the fight against terrorism.

Answer from sdg5

In our opinion the heads of states should find a way to solve the problems they have with each other. To do so they should make some compromises and give up their pride and start thinking for the people they represent. Out students are able to influence this situation by volunteering actions, to educate people and their leaders to stop running for money and start thinking about their future.

Answer from sdg6
It would be possible to live in a world with no wars, just if the heads of states would be more flexible and would desire de greater good, if they would respect the states that they want something from them and would make an agreement peacefully. They should get rid of egoism in their souls to make things happen and to wish the greater good again for all social blankets. Our students can influence just with their brain, to become the heads and to make things right or manifest on the streets.

Answer from sdg7
First of all, the heads of states should build special places for the people who are in this kind of situation.
We all know that countries like Germany have welcomed refugees and gave them a bed, clothes and food.We think
that we and when I say WE ,I mean all the countries from Europe ,should show solidarity to with them.
Another thing is that the heads of states should make peace with each other because all of us want
a world without wars and conflicts but it will be never how we want.
The students can influence this somehow, like peaceful protests or campaigns on Social Networks.
We learn about these situations at school and we also learn that we should be tolerant with the others and that we should respect other people’s religion and values. We think that education and tolerance are two important factors.

Answer from sdg8

Hi, I’m Vivian. I answered your your questions: “What should the heads of states and public organizations do to guarantee people life in the world without wars? Are our student able to influence the situation and save people? How?”
These questions are really important, especially in light of what happened in Paris this past weekend. I think governments can learn something from that experience:
a)How to deal with this emergency
b)How to prevent attacks.
It was a good challenge to solve your question. I enjoyed the process.

Hello!
Our names are Nastya Pentelyuk, Iryna Parashchina and Igor Kapralov. We are the students of Gumnasium №2 in Chernivtsi.
We have already read your answers and we have made some conclusions. It was very useful for us and me were glad to know more about your opinions.
Now we would like to introduce our thoughts about the question.
We agree with all of the answers. There are so suitable in that question.
We think that politicians should be more sensible to the other people.
First of all, we just have to change ourselves. All the big changes begin in our minds and after that they spread world-wide.
We hope that situation in our planet would change, but we have to put more offers to make our dreams come true.

211

Hey everybody!
We are ukrainian students and we are really glad to get your letters and read them. Our names are Inna and Laura and we are happy to answer your questions and just take everything into account.
The topic of our discussion means a lot to our country and to ukrainian citizens. We sure that you know about events which are happening in the area of Ukraine. We are absolutely agree with everything you said.Your looks and opinions are really significant to us.
To our mind young people can influence all this situations by volunteering and doing various vital inputs. The heads of countries have to reach an agreement and stop arguing with each other.

If we start doing a lot of important changes and actions, the way to reach a peace in the whole world will be much easier.
All in all, everyone of us doesn`t have to be indifferent to what is happening in the world and to people who is in a need of help.Solving the problem of wars and terrorism will give us an opportunity to build a bright and peaceful future.
Have a good day!
With love from Ukraine !

Hello! We are pupils from Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Our names are Kate Gerush and Alex Kurilyuk.

Thank you for answering our question, which is one of the most important nowadays. All of your minds are necessary for us. While reading your answers we realized that youth can influence the situation and try to save peace. All of us do it in the different ways. Our students started the revolution, what was the reason for changing our lives and thoughts. In our opinion, youth can change a country, but as we know from our past and present the worth of it is horrible.

315

The problem of war and peace is acute in many countries today. Heads of State are the only people who can solve the problems of the state. They have to think primarily about the interests of people, provide their security and the right for a free life. We agree that it’s hard to do something that really makes you happy without thinking about other people’s opinion. Heads of all countries must act for the benefit of people and not to solve their ambitious problems. If there is peace in the world refugees won’t be a current problem. People will not seek for a better life elsewhere.

Students will hardly influence the heads of state. But we can organize volunteer work, conduct a variety of actions to support and help refugees and soldiers. The main thing all the students have to understand is that the most precious thing in the world – is a human life, freedom and in future try to make our world better.
